July 1st: Canada Day crafts!

 

July 2nd: Learn how to play checkers.

  • Checkers is a fun strategy game that can improve problem-solving and spatial awareness skills!
  • You can either use a checker board you have at home, or make your own board with paper and markers.
  • Read these Checkers Instructions to familiarize yourself with the game, and then have fun!

 

July 5th: Cook a delicious meal together!

July 6th: Before reading a book, look at the cover and guess what the book is about.

 

July 10th: Read a book about another country.

 

July 13th: For Cow Appreciation Day, learn an interesting fact about cows.

  • For young researchers, there's no better place to look than Gale in Context: Elementary. It's a kid-friendly, safe research database where you can learn all about animals, art and music, geography, health, literature, people, and more!
  • You can get to this resource by clicking the link above, or looking in the "E-Resources" tab in the top menu.
  • Once you get to the database, use the search bar to search for "cows"

 

July 17th: Learn the names of the planets in the solar system.

 

July 26th: Read a book or graphic novel about nature or taking place in nature.
